Blocked Eustachian Tube?

Hi all, I'm dealing with the second go around of having a blocked Eustachian Tube. Only one ear is popping and I've been feeling dizzy/off balance for the past month when this started. When this happened before the doctor simply told me to take Mucinex D and it will go away, which it did. I've been taking regular strength Mucinex D now for 8 days and nothing. Anyone have any solutions or ideas before I take time off work to go see the ENT? Also I've never had any allergies and since this is allergy season could this be a cause?

Re: Blocked Eustachian Tube?

I have been dealing similar issue as yours, .... only difference is not one ear but both. Mostly the left ear, but partial blockage and pressure to the right ear as well. This issue started from a mild cold I caught late winter or early Spring.

At first, I sort of dismissed and never worried about, however things never go away and I went to the ENT who was good at my 'Sinus issue' in the past, but this time he did not diagnose good,.... saying 'only Allergy' and rx'ed Allergy nose Spray/expensive and Clariton-D. Even after two months on those, I still suffering from the same issue, then I went to another ENT who also told me 'Allergy.'

After those 'disappointing' dx, I visited a best 'ENT' who dx'ed 'Sinus infection' and rx'ed Antibiotic and nose-spray/cortisone. After on those meds., I feel MUCH better. Also, I plan to take 'Sinus CT scan' next week for further determination.

As to 'dizziness and nausea,' at the beginning it was intolerable, but luckily, I was relieved by OCT med., Dramamin.

Hopefully, you can get a proper dx along with a right med. to make you feel better.
