I am a 18 year old female and I just got my tonsils removed on Thursday of last week. They gave me a steriod for the swelling and some medicine for the pain. Its been kind of helping but not taking the pain away all together. It gets so bad some times I won't be able to even get down water. It ends up going up my nose and burning. My tongue is also numb and has been swollen since the day of surgery. Everyone told me this was normal for a couple of days, but 4 days later and I can't taste anything because its numb does not seem normal to me. I woke up this morning with the worse pain i had felt the whole time. It was like thousands of little needles were being shoved into my throat and ears. I took my pain medicine, but it won't go away.
Any ideas of what I can do.
