Post surgery complication
My 11 yoa daughter had her tonsils and adenoids removed 2½ weeks ago. She had a checkup last Thursday and they said everything looked great and they do not need to see her again.
The day after her checkup I noticed that she has a web-like structure near the back of her throat. In 2 different spots she has tissue from the side of her throat connected to her uvula. It looks like a web. I called the Dr. and got the brush off. To sum it up...I'm untrained and I don't realize how long it takes for her to heal and look "normal" and it's also just her swollen uvula that's making it look abnormal....but, to humor me, If Im that concerned, they can get her in next week to see the Dr.
She now cannot eat normally. She was choking last night while eating. Food is getting caught in the "openings" in this web of tissue. I called the Dr. this morning and told the Offfice this, but I can't get anyone to call me back. I honestly get the impression that they think I'm some overly-concerned, hypochondriac parent.
Can anyone tell me if this sounds like the normal healing process? Do I have a right to be concerned or am I just nuts.
