Area behind the ear is sore?

So I have a piercing on the upper part of my ear that recently got infected. While I was cleaning it I noticed that behind my ear, right where the ear meets the head, it's super sore to the touch. I can't see it very well so I don't know if it's swollen/red or not, but I'll have my family look at it. Do you think this is related to my infected ear piercing or is it something else?
