| swollen tonsils and mucous
I started out with some bad allergies and over the past couple days my throat has really started to hurt. I finally got a flashlight and took a good look at my throat to find some large swollen red tonsils with large chunks of gray/yellow mucous in them. I am assuming this is post nasal drip being trapped in the swollen tonsils but I have never seen my throat look this bad before. Everything i read about things in tonsils people seem to be calling "tonsil stones" but this was not hard like a stone.. just mucus. I guess I am just wondering if this is common for allergy/viruses and when it turns into something I need to have checked out.
I did a strep test yesterday just to rule it out and it was negative.
