Besides LPR, smoking, and straining your voice from too much talking or shouting, does anyone here suffer voice problems due to chronic anxiety and panic? I am very self conscious of my voice and hate it when I have to strain to talk. I do have some LPR going on b/c prilosec definitely helps but my voice is still sometimes really bad in the mornings. I don't have a lot of phlegm in my throat. My vocal chords just seem dry and swollen and not moist and relaxed so they don't come together properly when I talk and this makes taking and carrying on a normal conversation hard and sometimes painful which I hate. I think my anxiety is playing a huge role b/c of the muscle tension I feel in my throat.
What are some of the other things that have caused chronic hoarseness for others besides cancer and things like nodules and polyps? I hate my hoarse sounding voice and sometimes will avoid talking for weeks at a time. Thanks in advance for any replies.
