Motor Running Sound in one ear

I have a temporary Motor Running sound in one ear. It may last for a few hours or go a day then stops. Any suggestions as to cause or remedy would be helpful.

Hello,

This sounds very much like Tinnitus, if this continues I would suggest seeing an ENT who can run tests to make sure there is nothing internally wrong with your ear, if it is T then it may go on it's own or you may have it forever as there is no cure yet.

Was you exposed to a sudden loud noise? or do you work with noisy machinery? these are just a couple of things that can trigger temporary Tinnitus, no one fully understands what brings it on and why it remains as we all have it, like when you are in an empty quite room.

I have had mine for just over a year and I am used to it, it does not bother me at all, this to me is how you can defeat it, but it does depend on the person and what you hear, but if you forget about it you won't hear it. For some reason your brain has decided to focus on this sound either through injury to the inner ear or a prolonged exposure to loud noises or something else, get it checked out to make sure.
