Vestibular Neuritis or what?!?!?! Please help!
Hello all. I'm new and desperate for some feedback.
Ive had hard to describe 1 second head rush, spin, whirl, pooling, tilting, like sensations throughout the day for 8 months. I've tried everything to see what triggers it, certain movements, leaning forward, and it is excaerbated by movements but still sometimes unpredictable.
I've had an MRI which was clean as well as CT scan.
went to ENG and only test that was slightly abnormal was caloric which when they did it didnt induce the vertigo as strongly as it should have.
I had an EEG for partial seizures that was normal.
Around the time I did begin getting this I had been on antibiotics for about a month for UTI and C dificil. (didnt take ototoxic drugs except for keflex which can be ototoxic ony intravenous apparently) I do have polycystic ovarian syndrome.
Its becoming hard to function during these times and I cant stand not having an answer.
I tried verapamil for migraine but made it worse.
my blood pressure is normal, no infections on blood work, red blood cells normal, and I had my eyes checked as well.
I was told by ENT that it was probably vestibular nerve damage from who knows what and he said physical therapy will help. I have started and she seemed to think it was vestibular neuritis but would that really last 8 months? This is realy the ony symptom and its not like typical vertigo its a strange sensation very uncomfortabe that happens throughout the day.
Ive read about quick spins in vestibular paroxsymia which sounds promising but so little information and drs know about it...ANTIVERT DOES NOTHING. I NEED SOME RELIEF ITS VERY HARD TO FUNCTION.
I'm 23 years old I take 37.5 mg of effexor, 20 mg adderall, and yaz.
I do get exercise and eat relatively healthy.
Any advice or relating to these quick weird spins to see if it is neuritis would be most appreciated. Thanks!
