Considering a tonsilectomy, no sore throat in long time
Hi I havent had a sore throat in a few years. I mean i do get bothersome irratatioj in back of throat only due to my tonsils being swolen. My tonsils have been swolen for years now. These are my issues: it kinda always feels like i have a lump in my throat, like before you know your getting sick, except I am not sick, just swolen tonsils. they are not so swolen that i cant eat or breath, but one of the tonsils is so big, that it is taking up a bunch of space and i can tell less air is getting through my throat. Altogether, its pretty bothersome. I do suffer from allergies as well.
My Dr said as long as its no blocking my passageway and makijg it hard to breatu then dont get the surgery because its never safe to get surgery. i said yes i agree but having sick tonsills cant be good to have my whole life. And as i get older it will just make it harder to recover. I am now 32.
I am not sure what to do? I am not getting strept throat or and constant sore throats, but its certainky not comfortabe to have a inflated tonsil. the other one is not that bad, but its a bit bigger too.
ugh, i shouod just do it, but i am afraid of the pain afterwards!!!
