Surgery scheduled

I am scheduled for surgery to remove a cyst / lesion from my ear canal. I am very worried about what to expect after the surgery for pain or other problems. Has anyone else undergone a similar procedure?

Also, if the doctor sees that it's a tumor and not a cyst while removing it, would they take out more tissue at that time for a precaution? What is the standard procedure???

Thinking about the surgery just makes me feel sick to my stomach from worry.
