'Steaming' and ETD - Can this help?
Getting desperate.
Dr told me my Eustachian tube is blocked and I need to do 50 (yes 50!) 10 min sessions of 'steaming' to unclog it.
it is now really getting me down. I am on steam no 24 and ears still blocked.
Did this help anyone and can I take anything? am on sudafed too.

I also have blocked ears after a sinus and ear infection. In how long a period are you supposed to do this steaming? How do you do it...please tell me what procedure? A pot of boiling water? Did you have an ear infection?

I was never prescribed steaming for my ETD, but I will say that simply holding a cup of hot tea near my ear will often get it to pop. Honestly, the thing that helped me most during my first bout with this problem was Afrin nasal spray. It's not safe to use for more than a few days because there's a risk of temporary rebound swelling, but it only took a few doses to get my bad ear unblocked. It works by decongesting the entry to the e-tubes which are located behind nasal passages. Good luck!

I too am suffering from tinnitus, am waiting for an ENT appointment on 7th March. I am almost certain it is ET related, as I have other symptoms, ie sticky ears, crackling noise when I move my cheek bones, plus always suffered from really bad excess mucus in the mornings for years (sorry lol).

Anyway, I am hopeful of a fix of course.
