Voice change after Peritonsillar Abscess?

Hello everyone,

It's been a month since I had a peritonsillar abscess (which landed me in a hospital for 2 days), and I have no symptoms anymore but when I speak, my voice sounds slightly pinched/distorted, almost as if something is 'jamming' it! Sorry not explaining it very well, but if anyone has had anything similar after peritonsillar abscess or tonsilitis, would love to hear your story and what resolved the problem? My ENT has advised against doing an immediate tonsillectomy but rather waiting to see if the peritonsillar abscess happens again.

Thanks for your help!
