Middle Ear Problem and desparate for advice

I am a 29 year old female adult with reoccuring ear infections and fluid build up. Each year I am prescribed a counless number of antibiotics and steroids whether it's a shot or millipred. This year seems to be the worst. I have made an appointment with ent finally. I refuse ear tubes as i've had them before and they gave me horrible hollow sounds and hearing sensations that i had them removed. Today something awful happened. I kept yanking on my ear lobe hoping to pop my ears but i heard a crack and then lost all hearing in my right ear. It doesn't hurt, but it feels completely disconnected. I don't think i perforated my ear drum as no pus or anything is coming out and i don't feel like there is a whole. I did something though. Could it just be that badly plugged up? Could i have broken an ear bone? Could it still be perforated? I am up all night crying because i'm scared to death. i have two small boys to care for. I sound like a whiner, but this is bad. Not only does it feel so plugged up, it just feels disconnected and i can't hear at all. My other ear is plugged but the sensation is entirely different than my right ear. Any ideas? i'm open. Please tell me i can be treated. I do have other congestion but the congestion never drains down my nose. Whenever i blow, nothing comes out. It feels like it's all behind and above my nose passage. I'm so scared i don't know what to do. I made an emergency appointment with an ent specialist in two days. Who knows what they can all do on an emergency appointment where they squeezed me in. Any ideas what i could have done? Or, what other options besides an ear tube can they do? will they be able to see what i've done? The pop was like right next to the bottom of my ear lobe but like right below my upper jaw bone.

I'm wondering how you are? What did the ent say? Was anything damaged?

Re: Middle Ear Problem and desparate for advice

JaneyJ414,
I have been having a similar issue with my ear. I had an ear infection three months ago and my hearing has never been the same. Fluid had to be drained from my ear three weeks ago but no tube was put in. I feel like I am half deaf in this ear so I can relate to what your saying. I don't know if the fluid returned in the ear or if it has been permanently damaged. Does fluid keep returning in your ears? I have to have a hearing test in three days and if I have hearing loss the ent said that I will need a tube. I don't know if that will make things better or worse. What should I do?
