I don't think it is wise to wait months and months with ear pain. Why not call an ENT and lay out your problem and ask what he can do for you pricewise...and then just put it on a credit card.
Try for $100 and make sure everything is laid out up front so you don't get socked with a $1000 bill.
I think if you call several ENT's you might find one who is human.
Perhaps all you need is a course of cheap antibiotics. Sometimes the gods smile on us.
Perhaps your GP can prescribe some antibiotics (most can be gotten for $5 at a large drug chain.) If they work they work, if not, you're no worse off.
But I know the risk of no insurance: I spent 2 days in the hospital last month...$222,000 bill, nearly all covered. Without insurance I'd be looking for a tall bridge.
