Hello I have an annoying condition where I get muscle twitches after i burp or internal burp. It feels like its near the ear area. I even had the stapedius and tensor tympani muscles cut by a surgeon because he said it was myoclonus in these ear muscles. That did not help and I still get the thumping in the ear area. I think it might be the eustachian tube that is twitching. Has anyone heard of this or can give any advice on how to combat these twitches?
It might be worth checking into getting a Modified Barium Swallow done. It has a live video feed that shows your chewing and swallowing mechanics. It also shows if you have stuff coming up. If you burp during the test, it should show what is happening.
No i'm pretty sure its not tmj. Well they said its a twitch/myoclonus of the muscles in the eustachian tube. Thats why when i burp it triggers it somehow. Everytime you burp the air goes through the eustachian tube and makes it open and close. I just want to know what can be done to stop the twitching, like what vitamins, medications, techniques can be done to stop it.
