Sinus Dizziness/Off Balance - Help?
Is a sinus infection or problem causing this off balance feeling I have?
Towards the end of August, I came down with both acid reflux and a weird off-balance feeling that I strongly believe was sinusitis. The reflux is gone but this sinus issue seems to be lingering.
From Aug. 13 to 26 (about two weeks) I had inflammation inside my nose, pressure in my nose area that would rise up to my forehead at times and the worst symptom of them all a strange off-balance feeling like I was swaying side to side. I was not nauseous, nor was I sensitive to lights or sound. I could walk and talk normally but the off-balance feeling drove me nuts and made anxious/stressed.
One ENT said it was a "migraine" variation while two other doctors said the inside of my nose was red and inflamed and that it could something viral, bacterial or allergies. I was not given antibiotics; I was prescribed Predisone and Nasonex and told to take Sudafed or Tylenol. The off-balance feeling went away on Aug. 26 and I was normal until Sept. 8. Late in the afternoon on Sept. 8, the off-balance feeling returned. I went to another ENT on Sept. 10 and she prescribed antibiotics for 10 days and told me to continue using Nasonex. She said the inside of my nose was inflamed (and it felt congested). She found no signs of an ear infection and she performed basic neurological/balance tests and nothing was out of the ordinary. I still have that off-balance feeling and it's driving me up the wall. Is it a sinus infection/problem, allergies, or something else. I'm of course getting worried because I don't know what to do.
