Angry Could my long term Bulimia cause my mental disorder??
Hey everyone. I have had bulimia and and off since age 13. I am now diagnosed with Bi Polar. Does anyone know if Bulimia depletes your body of something that could cause Bi-polar/Depression? I am speaking in the purely physical sense, I know Most people with eating disorders are depressed, but could the purging be depleting my body of a chemical or nutrient that would mimic Bi-Polar Depression? I really need some answers if ya got em...thanks all! Hang in there. When there is a tomorrow, there is a hope.

I havent heard of a link between bi-polar and bulimia.i know it can be hereditary. Has anyone in your immediate family suffered?It could just be a coincidence that you suffer from the two.Are you on any medication?Im not sure if any meds for bi-polar could also help your bulimia.xxx
