advice PLEASE!

hello I have been mia for a little over 2 years now...the past year has been HELL for me. I usually B&P 10 times a day, sometimes more, needless to say it has affected all aspects of my life. I am in about 8k credit card debt and have wasted countless amounts of money on this. I was left about 10k after my grandfather dies, that is all gone as well.. I Used to eat healthy and work out all the time, and I loved my body then. However I have always had a LOVE of food, and addiction at this point. IT is all I think of everyday. My job has suffered as well, I am on probation right now at work. As soon as I wake up the first thing FOOD, then purge, and then what can I eat now?? this continues my WHOLE day. I want to stop so badly and get on with my life, so far today I have not b&p at all but I don't want to get too excited because I have done that many times just to either go crazy once I get home, or tomorrow. I have not eaten today either...I cant think of anything that I can eat guiltlessly and not purge. What I really need is advice or words of encouragement from anyone who has "recovered" How did you get through those cravings?? 2 years now I have been eating EVERYTHING and as MUCH as I want of it, and I am not sure how to reinstall that control. All I think about is food, how do I stop? How do I get over these UNBELIEVABLE CRAVINGS???

Re: advice PLEASE!

I don't really have any advice because I'm in the same boat that you're in. If I even eat a pretzel I feel guilty and have to purge. I've only been eating once a day as it is and just drink ice water the rest of the day. But I can feel a binge creeping up on me. Hang in there. I know there are people that have recovered that can give you some advice.

Re: advice PLEASE!

Same here. Im in the same boat. It goes on and off for me though. I usually never GET RID of soup. soup I can eat and not feel quilty same thing with a salad, as long as its not ceasar salad. That makes me feel yucky. I dont know what to tell you. alls I can say is stay strong. I know how it feels to think about food alll day long. It's horrible, and thats why alot of people dont think they have an eating disorder. They think that they are sopose to hate food, and not want to eat. Some ED's are like that, but I think an ED generally comes from loving food. Its harder then quiting cigerates, or major drugs, because it's something EVERYONE does ( eat ). Just be strong. Think about how great you felt when you ate healthy and exercised. Its hard to start at first put you will get the swing of things again. I know its hard to go on a diet because youll eat right all day and then A BIG hunkin cheesesteak is right smack in your face, and you have the thought. I can eat this. No problem, ill just go throw it all up and its like I never even ate it. I believe in you. I believe in myself too, and if we can just have the power to say no, and get back on a healthy diet. We can do it. its hard at first, but we will get the hang of it.

Re: advice PLEASE!

that is so true...having that thought i can jsut eat it and throw it up and it will be like i never ate but then where does it stop?? you can spend the rest of your day and all yout time/energy/money doing it all day...as i do many days... i think it is harder to quit an ed than drugs because food is EVERYWHERE...especially in THIS country there is NO WHERE to go without food...NO WHERE...plus you need some amount of food to live so you somehow have to learn to balance it and make peace with it....drug addicts don't need the drug to live they dont have to recover and then just do heroine once a day to live...god it is so hard thinking about it all just makes me feel worse off
