Re: can my ED play a part in my bad skin?

Well I don't know about breakouts.. but I know after I purge, I tend to break a lot of the capillaries in my face, so it makes my skin look bad and splotchy. Bulemia tends to make your face puffy a lot too, everything all swollen. It just puts a lot of stress on your skin. If you are deficient in vitamins and not staying hydrated enough, that probably has something to do with it too.

I'm not sure if it would make your skin blotchy or not. I don't see why not I mean my hair is falling out so who's to say it's not possible. Do you purge by vomiting? You're probably losing a lot of nutrients that you need for your skin. I'd definitely research it and if you do research it let us know what you find out. Until then, I'd take some vitamins and drink plenty of water (tends to clear the skin up).

Re: can my ED play a part in my bad skin?

Hey Sammy

Our skin is basically a display of how healthy we are. So most of us on here (like me) probably don't have supermodel skin! I drink loads of water and eat a lot of fruit and vegetables but the years of damage I've done to my body means that my skin is still coping with it. I guess anoretics are probably more pale, and bulimics probably have more broken capillaries and therefore redness and puffiness in their faces...I don't know. I've just bought a microdermabrasion kit in an attempt to sort out my skin It's annoying but the only way to get great skin - apart from having 'lucky' genes - is to eat healthily and sensibly and to exercise and drink loadsa water.

I recommend vitamins anyways coz I don't know about you but my immune system is shot to pieces!!

Take care girly xxx

Sammy - just read a post of yours that says you haven't purged for 2 days!! Congrats girly, that is fabulous!!! I am proud of ya Also I liked what you said in reply to cricket: 'we're not sizes, we're human beings' or something like that...so true. Continue with the not-purging, I hope you're feeling better for it! xxx
