Re: How many calories should I be having daily?
You can definitely search the web to see how many calories someone of your height, age, weight, build, and activity level should be eating. There are a lot of sites that have those kinds of calculators on them. But everyone should get *at least* 1200 calories a day to keep their body from falling into famine mode. That is, when you take in less than that, our bodies have been trained to slow metabolism to conserve energy because it believes we are in the middle of a famine. So going under 1200 really screws up your metabolism, which can be really difficult to get back to normal, and puts you at risk for a lot of other health problems. I think the best advice I can give you is to see a nutritionist so they can help you decide how much to eat and what kinds of foods leave you feeling healthy and satisfied.
