Question Need someone who understands to help

I am 20 years old and weigh 135 lbs. That might not sound like alot but I am only 4'11". I gained most of my weight when I went on the Depo shot which I am no longer on.For a while now I have been purging after every meal, it doesn't even hurt anymore, it just comes naturally. I don't like doing it but it's like I have no choice. I know that my husband knows though he hasn't said anything to me in a while. I feel so disgusting that it's taken a toll on our relationship. Also I am in the military and I am almost at my max weight. I have tried diets, exercising, running, supplements,etc...I just seem to gain more weight. I know that I am hurting myself but I can't seem to stop

Start today and get a handle on why you eat.

Something is not right in your life. It may or may not be your weight. Probably the best way to attack this problem before it gets away from you, is to go to the doctor. Start by telling the doctor what is going on. Then, consider telling your husband what you are going thru. Your husband could be your biggest allie. He loves you and he will help you control the things that push you over the edge.

So, you have to attack two areas: The "Why" you do it and the "How" you do it.

The Why, is very important because you will find the trigger that drives you to the action. Once you find it you can deal with it using another option that will be better for you in the long run. Believe me there are many ways to skin a cat. Start with the basics.

The other one, probably the harder one, the How, is setting up an environment that is not conducive to the activity you want to stop.

(this is where your husband will come in handy) You start by making sure you eat several times a day. You eat when you are with other people, never alone and never more than one small serving of a balanced meal. You make sure you and your husband know , you are not to get out of his site for at least one hour after your last bite. If you get up and go watch tv, he goes with you. If you go to the bathroom, he goes with you. (We are hoping both you and your hubby will undestand you are not to be trusted after eating. And since you are eating more often during the day, you will not be stuffing your face until you feel like you will explode. Also by eating a nutritionally balanced meal in small quantities you will learn that your brain allways gets the message about 15 minutes after you ate that magic "I'm full bite" So, you have to give your brain time to register that your stomach is full. Sooo, EAT SLOWLY, and talk to your hubby about his day and your day, in between bites.

I do think you should do this under doctors supervision, there could be something you are not aware of that is causing the weight gain.

Or maybe you know... (could it be the pizza, the late night snacks, the chocolate, the "I don't feel happy, so I'm stuffing myself thing"?)

In the service you are not alone, when it comes to the weight max. situation. Find other people that have gone through the same and get your nutrition under control.

How would you help someone that reported to you that came in with this same problem. (use your problem solving skills. Plan your work, and work your plan.)

I hope the spirit of clarity visits you in your dreams tonight. Good Luck

Moon, thanks for your reply. I have been trying real hard lately and I've been doing okay. I have eaten 2-3 meals a day and I have kept them all down. I know that it's not worth all the trouble I'm going through just to lose a few lbs. I've been around eating disorders all my life w/ my mom and my aunt and my best friend in middle school. I think I'll be okay.

Thanks again.
