Hey there all

Well, I dont know if I am writing this to get a reply, or just writing to see if it will help my head sort out a bit.

I am not at all thin, I really mean that, I am not just thinking I am fat, I really am.

I dont eat too much, I mean yesterday I had half a sandwich and a peice of pizza and I wasnt even hungry when I had those. That is a pretty typical day for me. I eat not much and dont get hungry, and dont lose any weight. I am not not eating to lose weight, I just dont get hungry.

Not sure exactly why I am writing this, just am.

Thanks for letting me rant.

Hi Catriona,
I'm not exactly sure why you wouldn't lose weight when you eat so little. How active are you? A person's activitly level greatly affects metabolism and how many calories the body burns even while resting.

Thank you for responding. I dont know why I dont lose it. I am not doing this to lose it but I think I should be.

Anyway, I am relatively active. I dont go out and do a lot of strenuous exercise but I do walk a lot and am pretty physical in my studies.

Hi Catriona,

I am not a doctor and I struggle with weight issues myself but I think part of the reason you are not losing weight is that you have to eat to lose weight. It sounds funny but if you get up in the morning and have a good breakfast (bran flakes, eggbeaters or something like that) and then go about an active day you will actually speed up your metabolism and will actually feel hungrier because your body will need more fuel to keep on going. The problems arise when you are not moving all day or when you do eat you choose stuff like cake or pizza over other things like chicken, whole wheat pasta, lowfat yogurt etc.

Once you have sped up your metabolism then when you do eat pizza or other things like that your body will burn it much faster and you will in turn lose weight...

I hope this helps and doesn't sound preachy or like a cheezy diet manual...

Thank you Peeka and Lil. I guess in some ways I dont eat healthy, but when I look at some of my friends I definately do. I mean, when we go to lunch I will have a salad sandwich or fruit or something like that and they all eat hot chips or pies or something along those lines.

Soon though I will be eating healthier than ever even if I dont want to so I guess life will get better for my body right!?!
