Weight really is not a major thing in the world of eating disoders. Yes, we all struggle with it, but it's only a symptom. Many compulsive eaters and bulemics are overweight, but they definately have eating disorders.
Not eating just sets you up to binge. Try to eat a moderate amount of calories every day and then you will lose weight better if that's really what you need to do. Right now you're messing up your metabolism by not eating, so that when you binge it saves a lot of calories.
I would say that it would be a really good idea to talk to that nurse. She can probably give you some advice that might help or just comfort you if that's what you need. You're not weird at all! Everyone has problems, ours just come out as food problems.
It may seem horrible, but there are some things that could be worse. I think it would be worse to be an alcoholic, except that when they are recovering they just avoid alcohol. We HAVE to face food three or more times a day for the rest of our lives to maintain health and look good.
Good luck for the rest of the day, and really think about talking to the nurse. The more talking you can do the better. It just seems to make things more clear to me to talk out loud about them. And it's always good to get another perspective.
