Stigma

No, unfortunately, I didn't write this poem, but I found it posted on a different board and found it so inspiring that I just thought I'd share:

THANK YOU, EATING DISORDER

Thank you, eating disorder
For giving me my fighting spirit
For telling me the things that aren't true
So that I may see the things that are.

Thank you, eating disorder
For stepping on me
That I may find someone to help me up
For pushing me aside
That I may find myself and stand.

Thank you, eating disorder
Because of you I know who I am
Because you were so horrid
I know that I am not.

Because you got in my face
And stood in front of me
I was able to push you
And see my strength.
Thank you.

Becaues of you
I know I am a good person.
