Hey guys,
I just wanted to share some of my thoguhts, and what helps me. I find that my anorexia gets the worst when I have nothing to do, and all I can do is think about are two things, food, and weight. Well that sucks, so I find that when I am able to divert my attention to something be it school, art, reading or whatever, my mind leaves ED mode and focuses on something else. I think that OCD is a double edged sword. Having OCD can be horrible when you can't stop obsessing about food, weight, people, or whatever. But for me, if I can focus my obsessive behavior to something positive I can accomplish a great deal. For example, Instead of focusing on not eating, I can completely engross myself in studying chemistry or some other school subject, and just study for hours, absorbing everything, and this results in excellent grades, which makes me happy, educated, makes my parents happy, and more importantly allows me to temporarily leave my ED thoughts behind. I think people with OCD can be SUPER people if they can focus on the right things. This is what helps me, maybe it can help some of you too
