Question How can it stop?

I feel I'm getting worse and really want to stop. Today my husband and children went to church without me because I don't want to be seen in public. Why when I've lost weight am I feeling much fatter then I've ever been? How can I get over all this. I just want to live a normal life.

Annie,

It takes hard work and determination. Get with a Counselor.

You can also overcome this by sheer will power. I beat this on my own, just by telling my mind that it was wrong when it told me I was fat. I wanted to live & knew the only way I could was to override the demon in my brain & eat.

When the demon rose it's ugly head & told me lies I brought the logical side of my brain into play & told the demon "NO, it's not true", then continued with what was best for my body. Healthy eating & exercise. Nothing to the excess.

This demon is a control issue. Therefore, you need to exert control in fighting this demon. Of course, a lot of people can not do it own their own. A counselor is of great benefit.

Another aid is to learn everything you can about this disease. Knowledge is power and from this you can learn to trick the ED Demon. This is really what it is all about, tricking the ED Demon into submission.

Hope this helps. Cat

Annie

Listen to Cat! She's incredibly smart and insightful! You can beat this by telling yourself that you're strong enough to! You're beautiful! You're wonderful! You're worthy of food and nutrition! Your body needs the food you are depriving it, trust me, bodies don't run on air. And you have a hubby and wonderful kids who are there to love and support you if you let them. You have a wonderful life ahead of you, I know you do, if you just keep reminding yourself that you are worth it! You are!!! Do you hear me? You are worth the trouble it takes to get better! You deserve a life where you can live happily without the "demon" as cat calls it (good call, cat, I too have often referred to my ED and the voices it carries as the "demon"!!! great minds think alike....lol)

Anyway, keep up the hard work, and DON'T GIVE IN! Don't let the ED win! You can beat it, you have the power, you do!! YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL AND STRONG AND A WONDERFUL PERSON! Let us know how you're doing! I'll be praying for you!

NEVER GIVE UP
~sarah~

Thumbs down

Well, I got brave & thought I'd pour my heart out to my husband. (Thought it would be nice to have him understand why I was thinking inside). Guess what? HE FELL ASLEEP! Honestly he did. Man was I hurt. I told him that he has now lost all rights to ever "ACT" concerned about me again. (Just for the record it was about 3PM in the afternoon when this took place & he had a full nights rest the night before). This one hurts more then I can even tell you.

LOL

Annie, please don't take this personally. It's got to be a man gene. My husband does this to me all the time. Not only can he fall asleep while I'm talking to him, but he's been known to fall asleep in movie theaters, the kitchen table ....and, get this.........the toilet, while doing his business. Shhhhhhh, everyone, please don't tell him I told you.

So Annie, please don't take it personally. Like I said, IT'S A MAN THING. LOL. Cat
