Unhappy eating constantly

when i come home from school, i raid the food cabinets, and the fridge. i eat almost every day after school, and from then on i keep eating and hardly ever stop! on the weekends it is even worse, because i am home all day, so therefor i can eat all day, and i do! i was wondering if anyone can help me. i need a way to solve this, and if stopping eating alltogether is the only option, then i'll do it.

I've been there, and it sucks. I'm sorry that you are going through it, it's very frustrating. It's called binge eating, I did it on and off for two years, and have n't for the past year. My best advice to you is to see a nurtritionest and a good pshgologist, both that specialize with eating disorders. It is a start, and they can help you out. Whatever you do, don't stop eating, that will not help anything. Just try and slow yourself down and stop yourself from binging, and ask for help! Good luck!

I know what this is like! Although I don't go to school, whenever I come home, I eat! I find it a lot easier if I just don't open the fridge and cabinets at all, say "NO" before I even have a little bite of something that will make me possibley binge. I also have another thing, I LOVE COOKING, and.. I love snacking. So when I cook/bake I always pick at it, until I notice its almost gone. Then I stop. Sometimes. So I try to get myself into a different creative activity other than cooking. Like yesterday, I went outside to help work on the fence were building around our house. Its somewhat a little exersize, I got to be out in the sun (which also lifts your mood), and its somewhat creative because I like to see the finished results.

can i make a suggestion? first, try to load your body up during breakfast and lunch with good, healthy food. eat. eat. eat. Food doesnt make you fat. the wrong selection of food makes you fat. and drink ,drink ,drink water.
if your body thinks, for a moment, that its going into starvation mode, it will send out a signal to your brain to eat everything in site.(your body also knows that you get water from the foods you eat as well. so if it is dehydrated ,it will send you urges to eat). Just like If your brain senses that your body temp is getting too cold.If it thinks its going into freezing mode,it will automatically shut down the blood flow to your extremities and send the blood to the vital organs. this is automatic. you don't have to even think about it. your body just does it. it has its own SELF PRESERVATION. see, your body didnt realize that you were just outside barefoot and not stuck in an icecave. and your body didnt realize that you just skipped a meal and not that your stuck in the mountains with no food for a month. It's functioning at a cellular level.
thats why people will say, "before i even REALIZED what was happening i ate the whole box".
so, drink that water, and eat that healthy chicken breast sandwhich with mustard on whole wheat.
also, ask your parents to not stock the cabinets with processed foods like crackers, chips, cookies, etc. thats a big help. one bite of that stuff, which is ADDICTING, will throw you into a binge.
try this. its working for me.
