tomorrow is the day - Eating Disorder Recovery Message Board

tomorrow it is the day i chose to take the big step into the deeper water of recovery.
it is going to be two years since i lost my beloved mother but that is partly why chose tomorrow in her honour.

i am really nervous to say the least

problems i anticipate are:

gaining weight esp at fast rate

maintaining eating when stressed/angry

resisting urge to quit ESP when hubby irritates me

finding new outlet for the many times i feel judged or criticised by hubby, and ways to deal with my supersensitivity in this area

coping with the positive comments

resisting setting pre-determined boundary ie deciding my set-point cf allowing my body to find it

coping with new identity...part of being me has ALWAYS been being smallish even pre ED

prob many more!!!

any advice from anyone further down the recovery trail?

and also, has anyone gone from always using laxatives the night before their weigh in, to not using them at all..how much difference (increase) should i brace myself for when my checkins are due???

Good luck with your recovery! I realllly really hope you continue to have the strength and courage to pull through and make a FULL recovery, as I am still just trying to get into the beginnings of it. We all offer you any support you need!

laxatives are terrible things...
you will find that after a few days being off them you may retain a little bit of water but it WILL go away.
also, do you have some pro's to help you on your journey toward recovery?
is your husband supportive?
i may be further along recovery than you but im writing to let you no that it is really worth it...ed;'s really arent living

chookie i only ever take them the night before i weigh in..ie only about once every month or so.
my fear is tomorrow is my first "non laxatived" weigh in and i wonder how much difference i should/could attribute to that fact. it might seem lame but that could be a tipper for me

ok, this is the truth but maybe half a pound difference...its just that lax. dehydrate your body...you no this...but it willbe worth not being on them...
