I've been having upper abdominal pain - I've had a normal barrium swallow. A normal ultrasound and a "normal gallbladder scan" I had pain during the test and it took a while for my GB to show up. When this first started I had lots of mucous in my stool and changing colors. It's gone from mostly pain to nausea and a blah feeling. Maybe I picked up the flu at the dcotor.
My lipase has also been in the high normal range. Any question you can answer will really ease my mind. My doctor's nurse will never return my calls and I am just so worried.
Can cancer be seen on an ultrasound?
What can cause lipase to be in the high normal range?
Does a HIDA scan cause pain for people even without GB problems?
Lipase is a pancreatic enzyme. I had high levels of both Lipase and amalyse when I had pancreatitis. My ultrasounds came out virtually normal, except for some sludge and I was in TREMENDOUS pain. I had an ERCP done. How much alcohol do you drink? Mine was caused by that.
Thanks Bella. I don't drink. I used to have a glass of wine now and then but very rarely. My little boy had pancreatitis about eight months ago caused by the flu virus. I guess I'm just afraid something bad is going on. Especially because I've felt like I have the flu for three days now. I've been to the doctor so much - maybe I picked something up. I just feel blah.
