Undiagnosed- hair and toenail loss with muscle spasms
What is causing these symptoms? I've been to numerous doctors and they are unable to identify a cause.

I've lost about 60%+ of my hair, and now my toenails are brittle and falling off. I get intense toe/muscle spasms mostly at night. What could be causing these symptoms?

Ever been tested for Celiac disease?

Carpopedal spasm (finger and/or toe muscle spasms) is a sign of calcium deficency, and celiac.

Hair shedding and brittle nails could be signs of malabsorption, and celiac.


Some folks with celiac have no noticeable gastrointestinal symptoms.

I have sudden hair loss and brittle nails also...plus dry skin and afew other things but I have low iron...like severly low iron. You might want to get that checked. Good luck
