Using my hubby's user name, I have been recently diagnosed with hyperparathyroidism. Surgery has been recommended. I want to have the minimally invasive surgery. Does anyone know a surgeon in the SF Bay Area that has performed this particular surgery?
I've been reading these message boards recently re: MIRP and saw that someone found 2008 post about a Dr Babak Larian (asst Shaye) in Beverly Hills, Ca. I hope that helps even though it's not in the bay area. You can also check the American Society of Endocrine Surgeons to see who is a member.
Thank you, I have found a surgeon at UCSF who actually is very experienced and teaches a technique for the surgery. He lectures all over the country. He was recommended by several MDs. Dr Duh. My surgery is October 17.
I just had a parathyroidectomy at UCSF, Dr. Gosnell. Not the MIRP that I read about on Dr. Norman's site but his information helped me decide that even though my calcium levels weren't that high for the past 2 years I knew I felt terrible. It's been less than a month and I tell you I feel terrific! Glad I didn't waste any more time looking for MIRP surgeon.
