| Question about Cushing's Synd. test
I saw an endocrinologist and he gave me a prescription for tablets to do a dexamethasone suppression test as a 1st step in possibly diagnosing Cushings and this morning I had my blood drawn. My question is:
I read this morning where I should not eat for 10 - 12 hours before blood work and also to stop taking my meds 24 - 48 hours before test. My doctor told me neither of these. I did stop eating last night at 10pm so I'm okay but I take a small dose of 5mg methodone morning and night for chronic pain. I also take hydrocodone 10/325 three to four times a day for pain as well. The last pills I took were also at 10pm. Is this going to affect the test? I don't want to have to go through this again - not any difficulty from the test but puts the results back several more days if I have to repeat it.
