My understanding is that it is
incredibly rare for these to be malignant. My MRI is still under evaluation for a microadenoma, but in the meantime I have been put on cabergoline for hyperprolactinemia. My understanding is that this medication will usually treat a microadenoma and usually no surgery is needed.
