Hey everyone,
I'm 21 and after having suffered with excrutiating periods for quite some time I have now been given the diagnosis of endometriosis and a uterine polyp. I have just booked my next appointent with the gynaecologist and am quite nervous about it. My doctor has told me that I will most likely need to have surgery to correct everything. I was just wondering if ay of you have experienced either of the above? Would appreciate advice from students out there too if possible. I'm currently in my final year of my degree at uni and am terrified my grade will go down as a result. Already had other health problems in the past which pulled my mark down as it is. Any advice appreciated!
Thanks

Blubell- None of these conditions are anything to worry terribly about. Uterine polyps are RARELY cancerous. I had a biopsy done a couple of weeks ago because I had a uterine polyp. Everything came back fine. They said I could either do the biopsy or d & c. I am surprised at your age your doctor would suggest surgery for the endometriosis or the polyp.Polyps are common in people with endometriosis. I would suggest you see another doctor before you do anything major. Try not to worry!
Thank you for your feedback! I'm not as worried now as I was. I'm just going to take it one step at a time and see what they say next month at the hospital. It's still reassuring though to hear about other people's exeriences.
