i am new here. i was diagnosed with endo may 2001 and had a radical hyst in oct last year. i have been dealing with a range of symptoms....joint pain sometimes enough to be in tears and at other times just annoying, had real thick hair but now not so much(less noticed by anyone other than family because i still have quite a bit of hair), fatigue, touble sleeping even with the chronic fatigue, can't do normal tasks anymore, headaches, ibs, and the list goes on. i had some lab done for lupus and get the results tomorrow for my ana. i am both scared of finding out i have lupus and excited to possibly get an explanation for all the symptoms . i have heard of getting a neg. ana but still having lupus. can anyone help? also, shouldn't i have a positive ana theoretically since i already have an autoimmune disease(endo)? i have over four of the symptoms out of the eleven but fear i might have a neg. ana and be dismissed as crazy which won't be the first time. looking for any advice!

Hello kooky,

I just read a report that stated anyone with endo should be checked for other autoimmune issues and viseavera if you have autoimmune problems. Doctors have found a direct link between the two. I am just at the beginning of all this and also have endo. I hope you get some answers soon. Good Luck!!

thanks for replying! i was supposed to get the results today on my lab but as always put it off til the last minute until i decided tomorrow would be better, unless of course i can find a way out of it then. jk

anyway, appreciate you writing back. kind of like the saying "misery likes company" it's always nice to meet other endo sufferers. not that it's a good thing that you have endo,i just mean from one endo sufferer to another we can relate to each others pain. what tests,if any,are you having or going to have to test for other autoimmune diseases? got to go hands are starting to ache. hope you have a restful night and a pain free tomorrow!

Totally understand where you are coming from! It just makes things easier when someone can identify with you and you don't feel alone or the old "it's all in you head" garbage. So far my doctor was looking at some of the issues like hair loss, no iron and sun sensitivity and decided to do an ANA test. It came back positive but not enough to give me a direct answer. I am going back next week to talk to him and hopefully get some idea where to go from here. My husband has been on my case because I haven't told my doctor all thats been going ie: tiredness, mouth sores etc..but all I can really do is take is one step at a time and deal with it as it comes. Whatever you do don't give up. You know when something isn't right with your own body, and doctors tend to forget that. Good luck with your results!
