Angry depo provera????

For Endometriosis?

Anyone tried it? Did you have success and did you gain weight?

I have heard both weight gain AND weight loss?

Re: depo provera????

I'm not sure if I have endometriosis but I have been on depo before. I took 2 shots and it was 6 months of hell to be honest. I did gain a lot of weight; probably 15 lbs. My mood was beyond terrible and I was mean! If you decide to go on it I hope you don't have any of the issues I did. Wish you the best!

Re: depo provera????

I was on the Depo shot for 6 years and only put on a couple of pounds. I loved it! No period on nothing for 6 years. The big down side to it and no doctor told me this again for 6 years. Depo shot can cause cysts. I had kidneys infections almost every years due to cysts. Finally a doctor told me this and I got off the shot and haven't had issues with my kidneys since. So if you are prone to cysts you might want to weight benefits with the negatives.
Hope this helps a little.

I was on Depo for seven years with mild weight gain (about 4 pounds... who notices four pounds?), zero periods and zero problems. I loved it.

Re: depo provera????

I have been on depo for one year with perfect effects, no bleeding, but pain. No weight gain. continued on for 6 more months with 5 straight months of bleeding. I think it has stopped a few days ago.

I am close to menopause, so I might not bleed again, as I have heard the last period can be a doozy...maybe not 5 months, who knows!

I am not a candidate for any birth control due to health issues. I would recommend it. My bleeding was a fluke, as I have weird issues.

I did get hot flashes 10 minutes after the first shot.

Good. I've heard nothing but negative things about Depo.
I suppose it's effective at preventing pregnancy, and that's about the only good thing that can be said about it.
My daughter-in-law took it, and developed psychological problems that actually required medication (or at least, it worsened existing problems to the point that she needed to be medicated).
Once the Depo wore off, she began to feel better.
