problems with alcohol on period.

In the past year I've been to the ER 4 times due to this menstrual issue. My symptoms being: vomiting, EXTREME menstrual pain, fatigue, fainting, loss of bowel control, and cold sweats. I literally feel like I'm going to die when this happens. My OBGYN dismisses this as "normal" obviously it is not (and I've been to more than one gyno that's told me this.) The only common factor I can tie in is alcohol. It seems like even if I have a sip of any type of alcohol, it triggers these symptoms. The last time this happened, I hadn't had anything to drink on my period, but two days before, and it still happened. Help me!! Has anyone heard of this happening, or have any idea what I can do to treat this? I'd also like to add that I've had an ultra sound done, and everything appears to be normal. Thanks so much

Re: problems with alcohol on period.

I have been told by many obgyns and ive seen four now that any type of alcohol flares up endo. I get horribly hot flashes when I drink. If im on any type of endo med I stay far far away from alcohol seeing how ti makes me throw up

Re: problems with alcohol on period.

Hi I had a friend who had endometriosis and drank and she felt much worse if she drank during her period. I would never drink at all with this disease. Some health professionals say the liver is associated with the menstrual organs. ( I think if I remember it helps process some of the hormones involved) Alcohol as most people know is very bad for the liver. Most chemicals and additives contribute to menstrual pain in my opinion. If a medicine is supposedly is calming to the pain of this period the next one might be a bit worse according to one health professional I heard. Peace SJB
