Had my 1st injection today!
 

Hi all,

I posted my story here recently when I was trying to decide about having decapeptyl injections for endometriosis and fibroids. Well after much thought I decided to go ahead, I had a good chat with my MD who has always been great. He suggested taking a low dose antidepressant immediately to help with the mood effects from the injection and instead of a 3 month shot in one injection I got a one month shot today and will see how it goes before deciding on the next month shot. I hope I won't suffer too much but I wanted to try this final option before seeing if I needed to have hysterectomy.

Best of luck to you! I have my follow up Thursday from my procedures and she told my husband I have endo and will need hormone therapy. I'm nervous as I don't think this will be birth control has this had not helped in the recent past.

How did your follow up go?
I am 11 days after injection and so far no real symptoms of menopause,maybe that's still to come or maybe antidepressants will help.

Follow up went well but I declined hormones for now. Time to try for another baby first :) we'll see what happens but I don't have long before I will need to the hormones or I risk it all just coming back.
