Hello everyone,
Or should I be saying good night?
Andrew finished his baseball tournament today and we then brought him down to Grandma's house. She made us dinner, which was nice. One thing I didn't have to worry about today. She made Katie's favorite, and it did include a baked potatoe! My side is taking this very hard. I told them that Mike and I wouldn't have decided on this if we weren't confident it was the right thing to do. She is our baby, first born and only daughter, we will do our best to take care of her.
Katie also started her period today, at 9 am. I guess the peanut therapy is really working! This is the second month that she has been "on time", to the day. We started peanuts the middle of March. Unfortunately, this was the WRONG month to be on time!

We'll just have to deal with. I told her at least she'll be on morphine and won't feel ANYTHING, including cramps!
Katie spoke with Ashley twice, on Friday (one hour) and on Saturday (an hour and a half). They have really hit it off and plan on meeting later this summer.
It has been super for Katie to talk with her. Katie also got a call from her Pede on Sat. He told her he was proud of her and remembers all to well when this all started 15 years ago. He was the doc I took her to when she wouldn't stop seizing. He attributes his grey and bald head to Katie. We think the world of him also.

He will be with us on Monday afternoon and another point during the week, when she's more with it.
We're packed and ready for the surgery. Need to be up in 6 hours so I'll wrap this up. I have to tell you about the award Andrew received at graduation Sat. afternoon too, but I'll save that for when we return. I want to tell good news ALL around!
Thank you to everyone who has prayed and had us in thought. It means a lot to our family. We don't know what life has in store after the surgery, but we pray that it can ONLY be AWESOME! I will be in touch, as soon as I am able. Most likely not until Friday, unless I find a computer at the hospital.
In prayer...
We thank our Lord Jesus for guiding us on this journey and thank Him for all the goodness He has brought into Katie's life. We thank Him for the strength He has given us and pray that He watch over Katie tomorrow as she becomes the strongest and bravest person I have ever known...
I am so very proud to call her my daughter...
With deepest thanks,
Vicki
