Makeing a "Seizure Alert Binder"

For Anyone and Everyone,
I recently had to start takeing a backpack with me everyewhere I go, because of the Incline of seizures ive been haveing. In the back I included, First Aid Materials, A Towel, for putting my head on incase of a seizure, my medical information, and my Emergency Card. Ive also put together a binder type folio, that has Seizure First Aid, Types of Seizures, and Information. In The beginning of the binder it has my information about me such as (in this packet Ive made it easier for you by simply highlighting and or underlineing the types of seizures I have, and first aid for them. Although the papers say to call an Ambulance after 5 minitues if the seizure has not ended, please do not do so for me. A normal seizure for me lasts anywhere between 1-8 minutes so please do not be alarmed. And Ive also written down ways that the person, or standbyers can best help me)

I carry this around in my bag everywhere I go.
Just a thought that maybe some of you might like to do.

And As always Im open feedback! Thanks Again!
Amber

That's a great idea but I do believe if you are somewhere where people don't know you-- they will call 911 right away. Its just instinct now when something like that happens.

Re: Makeing a "Seizure Alert Binder"

Hi Amber,

What a wonderful idea. I have 2 (yes count them, 2) kids with E. Jenny is 15 and out and about on her own to school and such... and I do worry, but would never think of taking her freedom or spirit away with my "Momma's worry!"

She's at her dad's in Vegas for the summer... and I hate when she flies alone (coming back 7/29)...

Thanks so much for sharing.

Love and light,

Lisa and kids
