| Re: Caregiver in need of help with questions
It is tough to figure out teens even without epilepsy. I see it could be a combo of many things. It might be he has trouble accepting his dad's girlfriend as authority in his life. (My own teens, who have ALWAYS been with me question my authority!< LOL)
Hang in there. Keep learning about epilepsy, his med and him. Seizures can also trigger mood changes, but so can hormonal shifts that 16 year olds can have....
A gentle answer turns away wrath sometimes helps me. The louder my son, 14, gets, the quieter I need to speak. I have a 16 year old daughter as well and they both have seizures. It is hard to discern the moods and what is going on. Keep working with his dad to learn who he is and what you can do....
