Help, Frustrated Mother - Epilepsy Message Board

I dont know where to begin. My daughter has very poor insight. she is determined to move to new jersey on her own. she had a vagal nerve stimulator placed about 18 months ago. her seizures are partial complex drop seizures and occur about every 3-4 months.
Does anyone know if she can get insurance (medicaid) in new jersey long term. she is 19 and her meds ( lamictal, zonegran ) run well over 1000 per month. she cannot drive. she also will not reason with anyone who tries to give her advice on how to proceed.
any suggestions?/

YOu should call the Epilepsy foundation for that area. They might be able to give you info on whether she would qualify for insurance there and advise where it is best to live with public transportation. It is tough when teens want to head out on their own. It is really hard when she has poor vision and seizures as well....
