Bad week- now even dreaming about seizing - Epilepsy Message Board

Have had a lousy week in general- still adjusting to the regular meds from the extended release, and having to tweek the doses, and not "there" yet... have had at least 2 seizures, and the other night, I dreamed I was having a seizure-- while camping, which I don't do (and was with people I knew sort of, and one I knew fairly well in the dream- very odd), and when I woke up, my mouth was chewed up, I was peeing (always so demoralizing) as I was in the process of waking up, and then just fell back asleep again. See my doc next week. Still feel "off". But, I can't afford the long acting meds, and had to stop the generic Neurontin because it's outrageous. I"m so sick of no insurance, no word from Medicaid, no word from SSD, no word from anything, but lots of bills, and collection people finding me.... Rope is getting short and thin.

Sorry you are having such a rough time. Please speak with your doc about your med needs. Most have samples of meds in the office and can give you a months worth to help you get through the rough time. Try calling the office and speaking with a nurse.

Hang in there neurowreck. Although I didn't have a seizure while sleeping last night, I had a bit of a nightmare about having another brain operation. I was so relieved to wake up and realize that it was only a dream. Whew! I had a panic attack before I had my real operation and I was about to have one in my sleep last night because of the dream. Is there any connection between your dreams and your seizures? I've had sleeping seizures too but I can't be sure if what I'm dreaming has any influence on the seizures. Maybe vice versa?

My doc is great about giving samples when she has them...unfortunately, the main med I've been on for 6 years is too expensive, even in generic form (170 bucks a month on disability with no insurance just won't work), and not new enough to have samples around, so have had to taper off of that, along with the switch to generics from the extended release brand stuff....just feel foggy and sleep is way out of whack....taking too much benadryl, klonopin, soma, and darvocet just to get through the night asleep, and still wake up funky (woke up funky even without the added meds, so it's not just that). I need the Neurontin/gabapentin back, but can't afford it, and the "assistance" programs won't help since my disabilty (private insurance at this point) exceeds their limits for helping someone. It's so frustrating. I have that "almost seizurey" feeling almost all of the time. I'm tired of all of this.
