Hi Neuro,

I too hope that you are doing okay.I remember you saying that you were going to be starting on Keppra.I hope that you are not getting any really
bad side effects from it.I know that they say you can,and I was when I was
on 3000mg daily.
Take care.

Re: So what's going on Neurowreck?

Hi....
Started Keppra, slowly in 250mg increments twice/day, then add another 250 at night, then 500 twice/day and see how that goes....been very tired, and no appetite, which was already gone. SO, daily supplement/fluids via tube suggested if I can't get in enough normally...

Home health came out- physical therapist suggested crutches for a week, as there may be a hairline crack in the smaller leg bone on the right from falling during a seizure. Nurse came out- will call once this week, come once, then come once weekly for 3 weeks and re-evaluate. Social worker came out, and because of a possible 2 hour delay with emergency on-call nurses, had to get the "fallen and can't get up button"....well, blood pressure has been nuts - either too high or too low...bottomed out the other night in 45 minutes from 120s/90s to 70s/50s with clammy dizzy feeling, so pushed the button- not knowing if they'd let home health know, or what.....they sent EMS. Ended up getting 2 liters of IV fluids, to get it to 100/60.

Six meds have either been added or adjusted in the last 2 weeks....not sure what's doing what.

Woke up from a nocturnal seizure Wednesday a.m.- not feeling right, clock across the room, dog bailed out, mouth chewed, tongue mangled, wet. I'd called a therapist I see about some unrelated stuff (parole hearing for someone who assaulted me) the day before, as a heads up that with the crutches, and med changes, I might not be driving. She left the time open, but said when I called to say I wasn't coming, I was still incoherent and slurring. Had gotten a call from the MD- was supposed to call back my BP after checking it- but was slow- so called her (120/100), and she said I sounded weird, so called home health- no nurses to spare, but sent the social worker...let the therapist know that, who wanted to call 911, and she felt better someone was going to actually see what sort of shape I was in...just needed to sleep it off. Nothing the ER could have done.

Pain has been bad in leg. I need to emphasize that more this week, and let my doc know. Nothing is helping that I have here. (Darvocet is the strongest I have on hand).

Moving has been postponed because of all of this, since I have to give notice 60 days in advance, and the end of September just doesn't feel right, since I'd have to give notice tomorrow.....still can't get around here- don't want to be driving a 17 foot truck with a car transporter on the back.

Been painful and tiring.

Leg still in pain- see MD this Wednesday. Home health nurse called today, and will call tomorrow. Pain is waking me up at night, so am very tired, and spend the days just waiting to go to bed.
