I have the same probnlem! I was actually just going to ask the same question here today.
Last night, I woke up about an hour and a half after I had fallen asleep because I heard a noise in my room like something heavy fell onto all the crap on my nightstand. Nothing was there besides the normal stuff. And this had happened to me once before-- I was woken from sleep by a noise that sounded like something heavy and glass getting hit and then landing somewhere with a thud in the middle of my floor-- there was nothing heavy and glass in the middle of my floor when I got up and looked around. The first time it happened, I thought it was ghost activity, because call me crazy, but my house has strange goings-on, and it's been witnessed by many different people.
But last night when it happened, I almost wondered if it had something to do with seizures, because both times, it happened when I was waking up. It sounds so real that it makes me jump awake, and I can actually hear the echo in my ear afterwards.
I also wonder if this has to do with the time I was woken up in the middle of the night by what sounded like someone screaming in my ear. My ear was actually ringing when I woke up.
It's good to know I'm not the only one who experiences stuff like this.
