Hi, my name is Derrick from the UK.I am taking Tegretol CR 1600mg,Gabitril 30mg and Phenytoin 200mg per day, for both the Grand mal and the Petit mal Siezures .I have just come back from having a second EEG/Telemetry test after failing to have a single seizure the first time.My doctor has told me that if they can find what they want from this test then it will be the Wada test next,of which I am pretty scared,can any one help put my mind at ease?

Thats alot of medication! If your doctor wants to do a WADA test then this means you are a candidate for surgery? I've been through it all! This test is the scariest. Are you familiar with the test? The worst part is putting the cathader in. For me,they had a hard time getting it in. But if I can handle it than anyone can! Other than that there is no pain. I could feel them snaking the line up a little. It was not painful it was kind of a tickle sensation. When they put half of the to sleep it feels weird. But not an bad weird. When they put the side to sleep that has your speech function then you can't talk.(which is usually the left, this is one reason they do the test)I found the test very interesting. Call me odd if you like. I thought the last part was the worst. They made me lay flat for 8 hours with pressure on the artery! They want to make sure it doesn't open back up. Hang in there, its not as bad as it may sound. Good luck! Johnna
