Hi all - Epilepsy Message Board

Im a new member to the board and thought I would just say Hi to everyone. Im 34 and have been diagnosed for about 8 yrs now. Have been on Tegrotol since the start with no side effect. Biggest problem for me is fear of seizures and having ppl to talk to. Hope to get to know you all better.

Welcome to the board! Don't be shy! Tell us about you! Myself, I've been seizing for 9yrs but, dx'ed for 5yrs. I take Topomax and Lamictal but, I'm currently having problems...you'll read about that in another post!

Hello and welcome to the boards!!

I'm 25 and have recently been "re-dianosed". I had a series of seizures when I was 18.

I'm also on Tegretol and haven't had too many problems with it. Mostly just a very drugged, groggy feeling after I take it. Good thing I take it at night before going to sleep!! *lol*

Welcome,
I am 47, and had my first (of two) grand mal in September. I am on Carbatrol (Tegretol) and have the "groggies" often. I fear having future seizures, not so much for me, but for whomever I am with, since it's just not a pretty sight. But....there could be much worse things to deal with I guess. Hope this board helps you connect with some new friends. Everyone here is great! If you're looking for support, you've come to the right place!
