HI! I have a book in which artificial sweeteners are discussed. All of them are bad for you. They are all made with methane and methane dissolves bone. Also they have been linked to countless diseases: cancer, asthma, seizures and liver disease. The only one that appears is a "safe" cateragory is splenda. You'd think with all this technology we have that we would be able to come up with an alternative for something that won't kill us.
It does make you wonder. I had heard of the ill effects of Aspartame before in the past and more recently when talking to a student working in the Healhfood store. You also can get Splena from Healthfood stores from what I have read about it. The student did not tell me about Splenda. I found that on the Net. The student told me that when they studied Aspartame, they found that it is an amino acid (the basic building-block of Protein) I think and the body cannot use it. It serves no purpose for the body and can't be broken down. That's where the association with Alzheimer's comes from. In the case of Alzheimer's, they have found plaques on the brain that n turn decease those areas from functioning properly. If the body has no way o rid itself of the Aspartame, it will be places somewhere. Possibly as plaques on the brain which would cause the same symptoms in that those affected cells would be compromised. Sugar in moderation for me until I can't use sugar. Then, I will have to find a natural substance like Splenda. That about the Methane, etc posted is correct according to the article if you look at what it is made from. Heating would cause that process that bonded the molecules together to be broken down, thus releasing its basic constituents. I wonder if 98.6 degrees could also cause that breakdown into the constituents possibly. No more!!
