Post Help with DIASTAT please

My 8 year old son returns to school soon and so I must provide the school nurse with instructions for administering Diastat rectal gel.
My son's initial neurologist instructed that Diastat be given 2 minutes into a seizure. I am in complete opposition and feel that 5 minutes into the seizure (without slowing) to be more reasonable OR a seizure of less than 5 minutes followed by a second seizure without recovery in-between.
I feel the neurologist prescribed on the conservative side and I am not comfortable. Can you shed some insight onto this? Any relevant information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. Sincerely, KP2002
