Thank you everyone
Saw the epilepsy specialist on yesterday. According to Dr. Fisch "the previous tests may have been negative, but they aren't now." I now 'officially' have an epilepsy diagnosis "originating from the temporal lobe area" and will be put in hospital for five(5) days for 'epilepsy monitoring' near the end of the month.
The doctor is also changing my medication from Dilantin to Keppra. Keppra will be titrating upward in 500mg increments, (alternating am/pm per week) to 3000 mg/day bid at which point they will begin weaning me off of the Dilantin. The doctor warned that there will be a week when I am on a full dose of Keppra ALONG with a full dose of Dilantin and may feel a bit "spaced out".
If I fail on too many more meds he says they can try the Venus Nerve Stimulatator or surgery. I have to admit that just the thought of surgery terrifies
My boss is GREAT
